Ever wondered what it would be like to be the gold medallist at an NIT?
For Amit Kumar Pandey, this dream recently became reality, as he was named the gold medallist in NIT Nagaland in this year's class. Now, he's off to IIT Dhanbad for his PhD in electronics Engineering.
Consistency in studies helps to achieve success, opined Amit Kumar Pandey a Gorkha Student, M.Tech student of Electronics engineering after receiving gold medal, at the 3rd convocation of NIT Nagaland, on 23rd November 2019 at Chümoukedima Town hall.
He received gold medal for the student with best academic record in M.Tech, batch of 2017-2019.
Residents of Haflong, Assam son of Shri. Pitambar Pandey & Smt. Laxmi Pandey was a student of M.Tech Electronic Engineering at NIT Nagaland which is situated at Chümoukedima Town.
Just like any other M.Tech Students, he also wanted to do something after completing his studies. During telephonic interview Amit stated “I was not expecting gold medals when I joined for M.Tech course. The faculties are good in NIT Nagaland, which helped me to achieve success.”
His father Shri. Pitambar Pandey works in a Assam government School and mother Smt. Laxmi Pandey is a house wife.
On his future plan, he too wanted to complete his PhD in electronics Engineering.
he said “Phd with Electronics engineering with a job experience, will help to get better placement.” Being a part of Gorkha Students Union Dimapur, he is a good Social worker too.

He said his parents played a big role in his success for his life . Saying his Father was a teacher, so he helped him a lot academically. His parents is his inspiration.
His parents have helped him a lot emotionally, always stood by his decisions. He stated all the credits of his achievements should go to his parents and family members.
Even his friends helped him alot to dream big. Credit goes to his friends Circle who always encouraged him to learn more achieve more in his 2 years journey of NIT Nagaland.
He wants everyone to dream big especially the younger ones he said nothing is impossible if we try. He stated that Gorkhas are known for peace loving people we should be humble loyal and honest. He wants the Students to focus in education sector which can give them good opportunity to grab more success in life.
